DHAKA: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) authority on Monday permitted BNP-led 20-party to hold rally at Suhrawardy Uddyan in city on Tuesday.

BNP Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and Deputy Commissioner of DMP Ramna Zone Iqbal Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Earlier, 20-party sent a letter seeking DMP authority’s permission on holding rally at Suhrawardy Uddyan on Tuesday.

But seeing no response till Monday noon, a delegation of BNP went to the authority where they got verbal permission.

Written permission will be given later, said DC Iqbal Hossain.

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, also leader of 20-party, will address the rally as chief guest.
