‘Conspiracy still on against independence’

DHAKA: Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Engineer Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain on Sunday categorically said the conspiracy against country’s independence is still going on.

“The people who did not accept independence of the country, they are still conspiring against the country,” he said. 

The minister came up with the assertion while addressing a discussion meeting at Sagar-Runi auditorium of Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) in city.

He said all the development of the country happened during the regime of the government of Sheikh Hasina.

Khandaker Mosharraf also said the government is working to produce 12,000 megawatt electricity for the development in power sector of the country involving Tk 36,000 crore,.

With Professor Dr Abdul Mannan Chowdhury in the chair, the function was addressed, among others, by Awami League central sub-committee assistant secretary Balaram Poddar and Bangabandhu Mahila Parisad president Dr Khaleda Khan.
