DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Monday placed on 14-day fresh remand central executive member of Jamaat-e-Islami Dr Shafiqul Islam Masud, also former president of Chhatra Shibir.

Metropolitan Magistrate Shahriar Mahmud Adnan and Rezaul Karim passed the remand order after the hearing in six cases.

Detective Police (DB) produced him before the court with 54-day remand plea after completion of five-day remand.

On August 9, the Jamaat leader was arrested from a residence of Zakir Hossain Road in Mohammadpur of the city.
