DHAKA UNIVERSITY: Communications Minister Obaidul Quader on Monday said Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) became imbalanced after they lost power.
The communication minister made the observation while addressing a program marking the 39th death anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) auditorium in Dhaka University (DU).
Bangladesh Chhatra League DU unit organized the program to commemorate the father of the nation.
Criticizing the opposition BNP, Obaidul Quader said, “The party is falling into another trap despite regretting their past mistakes.”
Indicating Khaleda Zia, he added that there is no way to sit for dialogues with them, who celebrate birthday on the National Mourning Day.
The Awami League (AL) lawmaker, however, advised the BNP chief to manage her own party first.
He reminded Khaleda that due to BNP’s mistakes parties are leaving their alliance one after another.
Obaidul Quader, however, also criticized BNP senior vice-chairman Tarique Rahman without mentioning his name.
Moreover, making aware the AL leaders and activists, Quader said “The opportunists are using the name of Bangabandhu to establish themselves.”
Awami League office secretary and Prime Minister's special assistant Dr Abdus Sobhan Golap, among others, spoke at the program, chaired by Bangladesh Chhatra League DU unit president Mehedi Hasan.
