Over 200 Shibir men sued in Ctg

CHIITAGONG: A case was filed against over 200 leaders and activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir with Hathazari Thana on Monday night.

They were accused of firing and cocktail blasts during the clash between Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) and Chhatra Shibir activists on Sunday.

Hathazari Thana Sub-Inspector Nurul Hakim filed the case mentioning 107 names including Chittagong University Shibir unit president Mostafizur Raman and around 120 unidentified people.

Hathazari Thana Officer-in-Charge Ismail Hossain told banglanews that all the names of the accused include Shibir leaders and activists.

The case was handed over to Sub-Inspector Atiqur Rahman for investigation, the OC added.

Earlier on Sunday, BCL and Chhatra Shibir men locked into clashes on Chittagong University campus.

Meanwhile, police recovered 13 patrol bombs and two cocktails from Shibir controlled Surahwardi Hall of the university.
