MUNSHIGANJ: BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Thursday said 20-party alliance won’t accept any dominance as the people of the country do not want any master.
The spokesperson for the party came up with the assertion while addressing a rally in Muktarpur area of the district.
He also said the 20-party alliance was formed with a view to achieve a special mission.
This mission is not to be prime minister, minister or Member of Parliament rather the unity is for the betterment of the country and its people, he added.
Fakhrul said the people shed blood for freedom during the liberation war. The 20-party alliance is a unity to protect the freedom of the country, he further said.
The BNP leader also said the caretaker government was formed to assure a fair election in the country. Three polls were held under the supervision of caretaker government earlier.
Sheikh Hasina became premier of the country once in this process as well, he added.
The people of the country have lost their faith on this government for their activities. Realizing this situation they amended the constitution, Fakhrul further said.
He also asked the activists to stage a demonstration to implement the rights of casting votes in a free and fair manner.
Former deputy minister and president of district BNP Abdul Hai chaired the program where other senior BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami leaders were present.
