KHAGRACHHARI: Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat called dawn-to-dusk hartal for Sunday in the district protesting the murder of the Supreme Court Jam-e-Masjid Khatib Maulana Nurul Islam Farooqui.

Besides, they will bring out a protest procession and stage a rally on Friday morning.

The hartal was called from a meeting Thursday at Khagrachhari Municipality auditorium in the afternoon.

Khagrachhari Municipality Mayor M Rafiqul Islam, refugees of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Task Force member SM Shafi, general secretary of Khagrachhari press club Abu Daud, Advocate Akhter Uddin Mamun, Maulana Abu Taher Ansari and Maulana Shahidul Islam among others were present in the meeting.
