BNP leader Taimur granted bail

DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Tuesday granter bail to Advocate Taimur Alam Khandaker, president of Narayanganj district BNP and also deputy legal affairs secretary of BNP central committee. 

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rezaul Karim passed the bail order in the morning after the hearing.

Sub-inspector M Wahiduzzaman of Paltan Thana sought remand of Taimur for police interrogation and his lawyers appealed for bail.

Earlier on Monday, Taimur was arrested from his office at Meherba Plaza in the city in a shop occupying case.  

Later, he was interrogated in Detective Branch (DB) office in city’s Mintoo road at night.

The statement said “One Ruhul Amin took a shop of Bijoynagar Deaf Market on lease for 60 years from the president of the market Taimur Alam Khandaker. But he has been conspiring to uproot him by canceling his lease including filing cases against him.”

Once the High Court also gave its verdict in favour of Ruhul Amin, he added.

In spite of all these, on September 11, Taimur with the help of some accomplices broke the locks of the shop and vandalized electrical equipments, he added.

Later, Ruhul Amin filed a case against Taimur Alam in this connection and police arrested him.
