NEW YORK: Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), the student wing of ruling Awami League, set fire to AK Khandaker’s book titled “1971: Bhetare Baire' at Jackson Heights in New York on Sunday evening.

After burning the books, the BCL leaders said history distorters would be protested everywhere. 

They torched the book by chanting slogan ‘where there is distortion of history, there is protest’.

United States BCL president ZA Joy, General Secretary Jahangir Mia, Vice-president Riyad Khan, Helal Mia and Joint General Secretary Syed Sazzad Raihan, among others, joined the protest program.
