MYMENSINGH: Law enforcers detained 18 leaders and activists, including upazila unit President Belal Hossain and general secretary Amirul Islam of Islami Chhattra Shibir, from Gauripur upazila of the district on Wednesday.

Police sources said, acting on a tip-off, law enforcers conducted a special drive in the area around 3:30pm and detained 18 Shibir men with huge number of Jihadists’ books and leaflets.

Gauripur Thana Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Ali confirmed the matter to banglanews.
