DHAKA: Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu commented that the enemies of religion and democracy have gathered under the umbrella of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) chairperson Khaleda Zia.

He came to this assertion at the meeting held on the occasion of the 42nd founding anniversary of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) at the party’s central office on Wednesday afternoon.

Pointing to the BNP-Jamaat alliance, the minister said Jamaat is involved with war crime. They are doing business in the name of religion.

On the other hand, BNP is distorting the country’s history. They are protecting Jamaat and Hefajat.

He said that JSD believes in the freedom of religions, rituals as well as democracy.

JSD works for the rights of labourers, he added.

He further said that JSD is committed to fight communalism, and also the enemies of religion and history.

According to him, JSD is needed to build Bangladesh to be free from terrorism and communalism.

JSD leaders Shirin Akhtar MP, general secretary Sharif Nurul Ambia, joint general secretary Nazmul Haque Pradhan MP and organizing secretary Obaidur Rahman Chunnu were among others at the meeting.

However, JSD central committee vice-president Mir Hossain Akhtar declared party programs on the occasion of the founding anniversary at the meeting.

The programs include seminars to be held at the Institute of Diploma Engineers auditorium in city on October 26 and 28 and a discussion and rally on October 31.
