Tarique Rahman advisor resigns Barrister MA Sayem

LONDON: BNP Senior Vice-Chairman Tarique Rahman’s human rights adviser Barrister MA Sayem resigned on Thursday.

He, at a press conference held in an East London restaurant declared the decision in the noon.

Sayem said there that UK Border Agency took him to quiz regarding his professional matters.

“That’s not related to politics or BNP any how,” he added. “Some newspapers, centering the issue, tried to spread rumors involving Tarique Rahman.”

In this regard, according to Sayem, he had decided to remain apart from party until the truth got reveal.

He, however, at that time, also resigned from the post of United Kingdom (UK) BNP unit’s joint general secretary.

MA Sayem was arrested by London Metropolitan Police earlier on Tuesday afternoon from his law firm Uzma Law Centre, at East London, for helping a client with forged documents.

Later, he was freed after about 12 hours of detention.
