BNP’s Mosharraf indicted for threatening PM

DHAKA: A Dhaka Court framed charge against BNP standing committee member Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain in a case filed for defamation and threatening Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Metropolitan Magistrate Ataul Haq passed the order at 11:00am Monday and also fixed January 22 next for deposition.

Khandaker Mosharraf, in his speech on December 31 in 2012, said: “Bangabandhu had a dream of making power everlasting, which did not come true. Now if Sheikh Hasina wants to stay in power for life holding election under partisan government, she will have to face same consequences like 1975.”

His remark was published in different newspapers on the following day and AB Siddique, president of Jononetri Parishad, filed a case on January 20 in 2013 saying that was a death threat to PM.
