Conspiracy against Bangladesh enduring

DHAKA: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) standing committee member Brigadier General (retd) ASM Hannan Shah on Tuesday alleged that a vested quarter in India has been conspiring against Bangladesh and its leaders.

He made the allegation while addressing a human chain formed by Jatiyatabadi Mohila Dal, demanding the withdrawal of case filed against BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia and its senior vice-chairman Tarique Rahman, in front of National Press Club in city.

Hannan Shah said, “India has admitted that a vested quarter in their territory to conspire against Bangladesh and its top leaders.”

He asked the government to disclose their identity.

He also wanted to know about them who have been providing money required for the training.

The senior BNP leader also alleged that the government has been trying to nip the voice of oppositions with the help of judiciary.

The government of Fakhruddin and General Moin U Ahmed also filed cases against the Awami League leaders but they withdrew all the cases after assuming power and filed thousands of cases against BNP leaders and activists, Hannan Shah added.

He also forewarned the government saying that if they do not withdraw as well as cease filing illegal and false cases against BNP leaders, those would be withdrawn by ousting the government from the power.

BNP vice-chairman Selima Rahman, Mohila Dal general secretary Shirin Sultana and Dhaka City Mohila Dal president Sultana Ahmed addressed the human chain that was presided over by Mohila Dal president Nuri Ara Safa.
