Speaker leaves for India

DHAKA: Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury left for India on Tuesday to join a three-day long workshop in India’s Chandigar.

She is visiting India with the parliamentary delegation for the first time after being elected as chairperson of Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA).

The speaker will join the workshop titled “The Role of Parliamentary Agricultural Committee” organized by CPA and Panjab Parliament.

Member of Parliament (MP) Sagupta Yasmin and M Nazrul Islam MP are accompanying the Speaker.

Senior officials of parliament secretariat, including senior secretary M Ashraful Makbul saw off the delegation at city’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
