DHAKA: Miscreants chopped SM Yasir, member secretary of Rangpur city unit of Jatiya Party, in front of his home in the city early Wednesday.

City unit convener Mostafizur Rahman Mostafa alleged that supporters of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives state minister Mashiur Rahman Ranga attacked Yasir.

Yasir had been undergoing treatment at Rangpur Medical College and Hospital, Mostafa informed.

Following the attack, supporters of JP chairman Hussain Mohhad Ersahd took control over the city unit head office at the night.

Later, Ersahd’s supporters brought out procession and stayed at the office till the dawn.

The city convener told banglanews that supporters of Ranga will no longer be allowed to enter the office from now on.
