155 held in Pabna, Satkhira

DHAKA: Police in overnight derives detained a total of 155 people in Pabna and Satkhira districts to prevent atrocity centering the verdict in war crimes case against Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Motiur Rahman Nizami.

Our Pabna Correspondent reports police in special drives detained a total of 105 people from the district Tuesday.

Most of the detainees were Jamaat-BNP activists while the rest are accused in different cases.

District Special Branch (SB) Officer-In-Charge Abdul Hannan confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Our Satkhira Correspondent adds that police arrested some 49 people including 13 men of Jamaat and its student wing Islami Chhattra Shibir from the district Tuesday night.

District Superintendent of Police (SP) Syed Modasser Ali confirmed the matter to banglanews.

All of the captives are accused in different cases related to carrying out sabotage and vandalizing vehicles.
