DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Thursday denied bail plea of Jubo Dal president Moazzem Hossain Alal and five other leaders and activists of BNP and its front organizations, in a case filed under the Special Powers Act.

The five other accused include Saidur Rahman, M Jahangir, Kamrul Islam, Abul Kalam Azad and Rubel Howlader.

They were also placed on a 3-day on October 26.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Asaduzzaman Nur passed the order after a hearing.

On October 25, on secret information, police arrested Alal along with 62 activists of the BNP and its front organizations from his Lalmatia residence in city on the allegation of planning to carry out subversive activities during hartal.
