DHAKA: Ruling Awami League will hold the “biggest-ever” grand rally at Suhrawardy Udyan in the city on Monday marking the ‘Jail Killing Day’.

Presidium Member of the party Mohammad Nasim, also Health and Family Welfare minister, made the announcement at an extended meeting at Bangabandhu Avenue on Saturday morning.

He said, “AL will show that the party has been in position on the (political) field.”
 
Nasim added: “We will hold the election only in 2019 to protect the democratic process, there is no chance for election ahead of that year.”

Presided over by Dhaka City AL unit acting president MA Aziz, Disaster Management and Relief Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya and Food Minister Qamrul Islam, among others, also spoke.
