MOULVIBAZAR: Police arrested here a Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chatra Dal (JCD) district leader on Wednesday.

The detainee is identified as Alim Hossain Miru, son of a late Mofiz Miah, residing in Tailakbijoy village of Akhailkura union under sadar Upazila of the district.

Sources told banglanews that Miru is the senior joint convener of Moulvibazar Chhatra Dal unit.

He was detained around 6:30am from city’s Barkapon area, sources added.

Confirming the matter, Moulvibazar Model Thana sub-inspector (SI) Nazma Begum said that they have arrested Miru, who was fugitive for a case filed by the government registrar (GR).
