Hearing of 26 BNP men deferred

DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Wednesday deferred the charge hearing till December 8 against 26 BNP leaders including Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Barrister Moudud Ahmed in two different cases with Paltan Thana.

Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court Judge Tareq Moinul Islam Bhuiyan passed the order following a plea of Advocate Joynul Abedin Mejbah as the most of the defendants including Mirza Fakhrul was not present in the court due to Jamaat’s 48-hour hartal.

The Court also fixed December 8 as the deposition date against 41 people including BNP Standing Committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed.

The case was filed with Paltan Thana in city under the Speedy Trial Act on charge of vandalism and arson on March 2, 2013.
