DHAKA: A Standing Committee meeting of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is underway at BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan political office Thursday night.

Chaired by Khaleda Zia, the meeting is attended by the party’s acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, standing committee members Dr RA Gani, Dr Moin Khan, Lt Gen (retd) Mahbubur Rahman, MK Anwar, Barrister Jamiruddin Sircar, Barrister Rafiqul Islam Mia, Barrister Moudud Ahmed, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy and Mirza Abbas.

Party sources said they will discuss the current political situation in the country.

The party’s strategy regarding the upcoming movements will also be discussed in the meeting, the sources added.

The meeting was underway till filling the report.
