DHAKA: The decision, taken in a standing committee meeting of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) on Thursday night, will be disclosed at a press conference on Friday morning.

BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will inform the media at the press conference at the party’s headquarters in city’s Naya Paltan area at 10:30am in the day.

BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s media wing official Sayrul Kabir Khan confirmed the matter.

The standing committee meeting, which started at 9:00pm on Thursday, continued till 11:30pm at BNP chairperson’s political office in Gulshan.

Chaired by Khaleda Zia, the meeting was attended by the party’s acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, standing committee members Dr RA Gani, Dr Moin Khan, Lt Gen (retd) Mahbubur Rahman, MK Anwar, Barrister Jamiruddin Sircar, Barrister Rafiqul Islam Mia, Barrister Moudud Ahmed, ASM Hannan Shah, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy and Mirza Abbas.

Party sources said they discussed the current political situation in the country.

The party’s strategies regarding the upcoming movements were also discussed in the meeting, the sources added.
