SYLHET: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Sylhet unit has declared to lend their support to the daylong hartal called by an organization named ‘Amra Sylhetbasi’ in the district for Monday.

BNP district unit convener Advocate Nurul Haque, at a protest rally in city’s Court Point area on Sunday, lent his party’s support to the shutdown.

Earlier on Saturday, ‘Amra Sylhetbasi’ leader Abdur Razzak declared a daylong shutdown on Monday in Sylhet protesting the inclusion of Sylhet City Corporation Mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury’s name in the charge-sheet of former finance minister Shah AMS Kibria murder case.

On November 13, a total of 35 people, including SCC Mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury were made charge-sheeted of Kibria murder case.
