DHAKA: BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Monday said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is standing on quicksand and hazardous political situation.
The BNP senior leader came up with the observation in a discussion on ‘November 7 Revolution and Solidarity Day’ organized by Jatiyatbadi Mahila Dal at Institution of Engineers in city’s Ramna area.
Pointing to a remark of the PM, Fakhrul said she termed the people, who talked against the January 5 national elections, ‘ignorant’.
According to her observation, people of the country and abroad are ‘ignorant’ as some country including European countries and the USA did not accept the election, the BNP spokesperson said.
Fakhrul said the AL-led government does not believe in sovereignty of the country that’s why they are creating obstacles in observing the day.
He also called for staging movement to establish an elected government.
BNP vice-chairman Selima Rahman and Jatiyatbadi Mahila Dal general secretary Shirin Sultana, among others, spoke at the event chaired by Mahila Dal president Nure Ara Safa.
