Khandaker Mosharraf denied bail

DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Thursday rejected bail petition to BNP standing committee member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain in a money-laundering case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

M Dalil Uddin of Special Judge’s Court of Dhaka passed the order after bail hearing.

Earlier on August 14, the ACC director Nasim Anwar submitted the charge-sheet before Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) court.

On February 6, ACC officials nabbed Mosharraf from his Gulshan residence in the capital and handed over to police in connection with the case filed by ACC Director.

According to the case, Mosharraf laundered some Tk 9.53 crore to the UK when he was the Health and Family Welfare Minister during the 2001-2006 tenure of the BNP-led four-party government.
