BOGRA: BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that the existence of BNP will abolish till the ruling party Awami League (AL) remains in power.
He came up with the assertion in a program on 50th birthday of Senior Vice Chairman of BNP Tarique Rahman at Altafunnesa play ground in Bogra on Friday.
Fakhrul claimed that the government has killed 310 BNP men and 65 others disappeared forcefully on November, December in 2013 and on January in 2014.
If the government remains in power then our existence and sovereignty will abolish, he added.
He urged the people to stage demonstration against this government to experience a midterm election.
Fakhrul also claimed that the government has harmed the nation by dissolving the caretaker government system.
“The government has divided the country into two parts. Of which, one part supports freedom, sovereignty, democracy and another opposes,” he added.
Pointing at the government, the BNP senior leader said “Do not close all doors of democracy. The result of this will be awful. You will have to pay for this.”
He also criticized the infighting of ruling party AL’s student wing Chhatra League.
He also claimed that the government is cheating with the people by making Tarique as prime minister Sheikh Hasina’s advisor.
Regarding Tarique Rahman, Fakhrul said that he is the pride of the nation.
A cultural function was also held where other local leaders of BNP were also present in the program.
