DHAKA: The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court (SC) has set Tuesday to pass order on leave-to-appeal petition filed by BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia challenging her indictment in Zia Charitable Trust graft cases.
A 5-member bench led by Chief Justice Mozammel Hossain passed the order on Monday noon.
Earlier in the morning, the SC Appellate Division rejected two leave-to-appeals of BNP chief filed challenging her indictment in Zia Orphanage Trust graft cases.
The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) on August 8, 2011, filed the Zia Charitable Trust graft case with city’s Tejgaon Thana accusing Khaleda Zia and three others.
Later on March 19 of this year, Justice Basudeb Roy granted the charge-sheet of this case filed by Harunur Rashid, the ACC assistant director.
Meanwhile, Khaleda filed writ petition in the case challenging the charge.
Later, she appealed to the SC as the HC dismissed the writs.
