DHAKA: Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Advocate Anisul Haque on Monday said the government is satisfied with the verdict of International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) that sentenced death penalty to Mobarak Hossain for crimes against humanity in 1971.
“The government is satisfied with this verdict. The International Crimes Tribunal is following proper legal procedures to try war crimes,” he said.
The law minister was talking to journalists at his secretariat office.
Anisul Haque also claimed that the people of the country are getting confidence gradually after the verdicts of the war crimes.
Earlier in the morning, International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 delivered its sixth verdict awarding death penalty to former Awami League leader of Brahmanbaria Mobarak Hossain for his crimes against humanity during Liberation war in 1971.
The tribunal chief Justice M Enayetur Rahim awarded death penalty to ‘Razakar Commander’.
