DHAKA: Over 100 post-deprived leaders and activists of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal staged a demonstration and brought out procession in front of BNP’s central office at Nayapaltan in the city on Tuesday.

They also chanted slogans against the new committee and BNP student affairs secretary Shahiduddin Chowdhury Annie and his deputy Sultan Salahuddin Tuku demanding the immediate cancellation of the committee.

Pedestrians said that post-deprived leaders and activists reached the spot at noon staged a demonstration.

Fearing clash, the movements of the vehicles were reduced and people became panicked, they added.

Paltan Thana police sources said that additional law enforcers were in alert position in the area to avert any untoward situation.
