AL submits income tax return

DHAKA: Ruling Awami League (AL) submitted the income tax return for 2013-2014 fiscal year at National Board of Revenue (NBR) on Tuesday.

Though, AL did not give any tax. According to Income Tax Act, all registered political party is free from charge of tax.

NBR sources said AL office secretary Abdus Sobhan Golap and party’s income tax advisor Advocate Kawsar Alam submitted the return on behalf of the party.

They submitted this to deputy tax commissioner Atahar Ali of Tax Zone-1 (Circle-20).

Sources said the AL showed Tk 18 crore as income tax return for the FY.
