Jamaat stages demo Wednesday

DHAKA: Jamaat-e-Islami has called for a demonstration across the country on Wednesday demanding the trial of Latif Siddique for his derogatory remarks on Hajj and Tabligh Jamaat.

Acting secretary general of the party Dr Shafiqur Rahman made the announcement on Tuesday.

He said that Latif Siddique hurt the religious belief of all Muslims of the world making abusive remarks on Hajj and Tablighi Jamaat.

Citing that ‘it is an unforgivable crime’; he said that a demonstration will be staged demanding trial of Latif.

Dr Shafiqur also sought cooperation from the party-men and common people of the country to make demonstration a success.
