Khaleda reaches Comilla

DHAKA: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) chairperson Khaleda Zia reached Comilla to attend a rally, demanding new general election under a non-party caretaker government, organised by 20-party alliance on Town Hall premises of the district Saturday afternoon.

Khaleda Zia’s motorcade reached the circuit house around 2:00pm.

After taking rest for an hour, the 20-party leader will attend the rally, to be chaired by district BNP president Begum Rabeya Chowdhury, at 3:00pm.

Earlier, Khaleda Zia left her Gulshan residence for Comilla at 10:20am along with party vice-chairman Selima Rahman and many others.

BNP chairperson has been visiting the area after six years.

She is likely to start for Dhaka around 7:00pm.
