CHITTAGONG: A court here on Tuesday issued an arrest warrant against BNP senior vice-chairman Tarique Rahman for terming Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujubur Rahman a ‘Razakar’.
Senior Judicial Magistrate Masud parvez passed the order in the noon.
The judge issued the arrest warrant against Tarique after hearing in a defamation case which also includes destabilizing the country through hate speech.
Earlier in the morning, Chhatra League’s Rangunia Upazila unit secretary M Nurul Alam filed the law suit.
With this warrant, a total of four arrest warrants have been issued against the BNP senior vice-chairman within past five days.
The rest three warrants were issued on December 18, 21 and 22 against Tarique to arrest him in different cases for his derogatory remarks on Bangabandhu.
Moreover, four cases have been filed against Tarique for his derogatory remarks over Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Chittagong along with another cases filed in different districts.
On December 15, Tarique Rahman, the elder son of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, said Sheikh Mujib was a “Razakar”, “killer”, “friend of Pakistan”,
Tarique was addressing a discussion program on Victory Day arranged by local BNP unit, at Atrium Auditorium of East London.
