COX’S BAZAR: A Juba League leader was hacked to death by some miscreants in Surezpur Manikpur Bazar area under Chakaria upazila on Tuesday night.

The decreased was identified as Abu Bakkar, 38, son of Nazir Hossain of the area and Juba League senior vice-president of the upazila.

Deceased brother Abul Kashem alleged that some 10-15 miscreants led by local BNP leader Shafiul Alam killed Abu Bakkar.

Juba League general secretary of the upazila Qaisar Uddin Kasir also alleged that he was killed on political revenge.

Officer-in-Charge of Chakaria Thana Prabhash Chandra Dhar told banglanews that the body was sent to the Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue.

However, the law enforcers are looking into the matter.
