DHAKA: Disaster Management and Relief minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya threatened Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) saying that they will vehemently respond to its leaders Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman.
The minister uttered the warning at a meeting held at ruling Awami League (AL)’s office at Bangabandhu Avenue in city on Thursday noon.
The minister attended the meeting, organized by Joybangla Muktijoddha League, protesting Tarique Rahman’s derogatory comments on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Ruling AL leader Maya told the audience that this is the time to face the opposition strongly.
He alleged that Khaleda Zia and her son (Tarique) have been trying to kill AL chief Sheikh Hasina.
According to him, they (Khaleda and Tarique) are still hatching conspiracies against Hasina.
We should respond to the conspiracy, he added.
Abdur Rashid, Abdul Haque and Jamal Uddin, among others, spoke at the meeting, chaired by Joybangla Muktijoddha League president Nizamuddin Talukdar.
