DHAKA: BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia expressed grave concern over the detention of Goyeshwar Chandra Roy hours after Detective Branch of police picked up him from the city’s Siddheswari area early Friday.

Her concern came through a statement signed by BNP joint secretary general Rizvi Ahmed sent to the media in the morning.

Khaleda said, at present, this voter-less government has increased the degree of torture-oppression on BNP leaders and activists to bite for last time.

The government revealed its last sign of revenge through detention of Goyeshwar, a BNP standing committee member, Khaleda added in the statement.
