DHAKA: A Dhaka court Friday placed BNP standing committee member Goyeshwar Chandra Roy on three-day remand in a case filed over clash at Bakshibazar, obstructing police from discharging duties and attacking ruling party lawmaker Chhabi Biswas.
Metropolitan Magistrate Tasruzzaman passed the order after holding hearing in the afternoon when Hafiz Uddin, a police officer of Shahbagh Thana, produced him before the court with a 10-day remand plea.
Earlier in the morning, a team of Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested the BNP leader from a house in capital’s Siddheswari area for his alleged involvement in arson, vandalism, creating obstruction in police duties in Bakshibazar area and attacking Chhabi Biswas on Wednesday.
