Case against 29 BNP men in Jessore

JESSORE: A case was filed against 29 BNP leaders and activists, including district BNP vice-president Golam Reza Dulu, with Kotwali Thana on Monday.

A Sub-Inspector (SI) Moshiul Alam of Narendrapur Police Camp filed a law suit with the thana.

Officer-in-Charge of Kotwali Thana Enamul Haque confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He said, on Sunday, local BNP leaders and activists obstructed plying of vehicles by erecting barricades in Rupdia Bazar area in the name of observing hartal.

The police official added: “Police, then, detained three local BNP leaders including Oliar. Later, we recovered 25 bamboo sticks, two locally made sharp-edged weapons, five iron rods and parts of blasted cocktails, following their statement.”

Later, SI Moshiul Alam filed the lawsuit, he added.
