DHAKA: A vacation bench of High Court on Tuesday granted three-week anticipatory bail to Abdul Awal Mintoo, adviser to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, in a case filed over Bakshibazar clash.

An HC bench comprising Justice Muhammad Abdul Hafiz and Justice M Badruzzaman passed the order at noon.

On December 24, Chhatra League, Chhatra Dal and police locked into a tripartite clash when BNP Chairperson Khaleda appeared before a make-shift court at Bakshibazar in the capital.

Two cases were filed with Shabagh and Chakbazar thanas against BNP men over the clash that left scores of people, including Netrokona-1 lawmaker Chhabi Biswas, injured during the hearing of Zia Trusts graft case against Khaleda Zia.
