Milon gets anticipatory bail

DHAKA: Gazipur district BNP President Fazlul Haque Milon got two weeks anticipatory bail in a case of vandalism during hartal in Gazipur district on Saturday.

The High Court bench of Justice Muhammad Abdul Hafiz and Justice M Bodruzzaman passed the order on Tuesday.

Advocate Khandaker Mahbub Hossain moved for the defense.

On December 27 (Saturday), BNP led 20-party alliance called hartal in Gazipur district protesting ban on the rally by imposing section 144 where BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia was scheduled to address.

Local journalist Farid Ahmed filed the case with Joydebpur Thana over the vandalism during the hartal against Gazipur City Corporation Mayor MA Mannan, district BNP President Milon and 30 others unknown people.
