Khaleda feels insecure, files GD

DHAKA: BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia on Wednesday filed a general diary (GD) with Chakbazar Thana in the city, seeking additional security on the days of appearing before court in graft cases.

Advocate Zakir Hossain, on behalf of Khaleda, filed the GD at 1:00pm.

Khaleda’s lawyer Advocate Sanaullah Mia, Advocate Masud Hossain Talukder and Advocate Mohsin Mia were also present during the time.

Khaleda’s media wing member Shamsuddin Didar confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Zakir Hossain told banglanews that a clash was erupted and Khaleda Zia’s motorcade was attacked on the previous date of her court appearance. She is scheduled to appear before court on January 7. In the GD, additional security has been sought for the BNP chief on her court appearance days.

He said Chakbazar Thana OC Azizul Haque assured of taking extra security measures after recording the general diary.

On December 24, at least 50 people, including a ruling party MP, were injured in a clash between BNP and Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) activists near the makeshift court following BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s appearance in athe makeshift court in two graft cases.
