DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Wednesday deferred the hearing of charge framing against Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) acting general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and 45 other BNP leaders till January 29 in vehicle torching case.
Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court's Magistrate Ataul Haque passed the deferment order in reply to an appeal by defense lawyer advocate Joynul Abedin Mejbah seeking time.
On May 10, 2012, Detective Branch (DB) of Police Inspector Nurul Amin submitted charge-sheet under section 4 and 5 of speedy trial tribunal and made 18 people witnesses of the case.
Earlier, a case was filed with Tejgaon Police Station against BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul and other leaders in connection with the vehicle torching case during hartal on April 29, 2012.
