Sylhet mayor Arif taken to DMCH from jail

DHAKA: Sylhet City Corporation mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury has been admitted to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) early Thursday as he suddenly fell sick at Habiganj prison.

Earlier on Wednesday, the detained mayor was admitted at Habiganj Sadar Adhunik Hospital around 7:15pm soon after he felt pain in his chest. 

Later, doctors of the hospital referred him to DMCH for better treatment. Then he was shifted to Dhaka central jail from Habiganj on Wednesday night.

Dhaka Jail authorities admitted him to DMCH around 2:45am.

Ariful is now in jail in former finance minister Shah AMS Kibria killing case. He is one of the charge-sheeted accused in the case.
