DHAKA: Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) President Khandker Mahbub Hossain on Saturday warned government of facing the “final game’ on January 5 unless seven-point demand of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia is met.
Mahbub said that under Khaleda’s seven-point demand, declare fresh election under caretaker government before January 5. Otherwise, seven demands will turn into one demand and government will be ousted with mass upsurge then.
Mahbub, also an advisor to the BNP chief, was addressing a discussion titled “Constitution-Recognized Citizen Rights: Today’s Perspective” organized by Bangladesh Youth Forum (BYF) at National Press Club in the city.
Terming incumbent government illegal, he alleged that the government has been holding power using state mechanism by snatching people’s rights.
Jatiya Gonotantrik Party chief Shafiul Alam Pradhan, BNP chairperson’s advisor Ahamad Azam Khan, BYF advisor M Atikuzzaman, Swadhinata Forum president Muhammad Saydur Rahman, among others, spoke at the discussion.
