DHAKA: BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is determined to join the January 5 street movement ignoring all kind of government restrictions.
She will come out of her Gulshan residence this time and join the programme, said a competent source of the party.
Khaleda Zia wants to stay besides the protesting leaders-activists, sources added.
BNP has already sought permission for holding rallies at Suhrawardhy Uddyan, Nayapaltan Central Office and Motijheel Shapla Chattar.
The BNP chief expressed her eagerness to join those rallies and address party men, the source added. Apart from this, she will join any gatherings, to be staged by her party men, at places in the city on the day.
Several sources of Khaleda’s Gulshan office and residence informed banglanews that BNP chief has already fixed party’s next course of action if the government takes hard-line.
Though one two days left to hold the rally in Dhaka on January 5 BNP yet to get permission from administration.
Moreover, State minister for home Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Friday said BNP would not be allowed to hold its programme the January 5 as “democracy killing day’ if there is any possibility for such chaotic situation.
Party high command supposed that the government would not allow the rally showing an excuse.
The party chairperson’s staying at home, in this circumstance, will make leader-activists, supporters and the general people frustrated.
According to sources, considering the government’s possible action, Khaleda Zia is preparing to face any tough situation. She wants to get a result this time or never.
The recent speeches of BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam, standing committee member and also Dhaka City BNP convener Mirza Abbas and BNP standing committee member Dr Abdul Moin, is giving the same messages.
Dr Abdul Moin Khan on Friday said that the BNP-led 20-party leaders and activists will take to streets even if they do not get permission for holding rally.
