Fakhrul urges for countrywide protest

DHAKA: BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir urged the people to stage demonstration across the country and observe ‘Democracy Killing Day’.

He made the remarks in a press release issued by BNP deputy office secretary Abdul Latif Jony at Sunday noon.

Fakhrul urged to the 20-partry alliance men and all patriot parties and people to protest against the ruling party’s arrogance and perversion and observe ‘Democracy Killing Day’.

The BNP leader said the additional security force including riot police have been deployed in front of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan office and cordoned off her. The BNP leaders even the reported failed to reach her.

The people prepared themselves to observe the 20-party alliance’s peaceful program. But, fearing the power of the people the incumbent government began to arrest and harass the party men, Fakhrul added.

He said BNP joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi also detained though he is sick in that moment.
