DHAKA: Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami expressed their utmost indignation and strong condemnation against confinement of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) chairperson Khaleda Zia.
The reaction came Sunday night from a statement of the party acting ameer Maqbul Ahmed.
He alleged there that the government has ‘cordoned’ Khaleda to ruin BNP-led 20-party-allaince movement.
The Jamaat leader, moreover, said that the services of bus, train and launch have been stopped to ‘disconnect’ Dhaka from other districts.
“They have also imposed ban on rallies and processions in the city,” he added.
Maqbul, however, urged the government to withdraw the ‘cordon’ of Khaleda as well as ban of demonstrating activities.
