DHAKA: At least five people, including one bullet-hit, were injured as BNP-Jamaat activists locked into clashes with police in city’s Segunbagicha area on Monday.
They also set fire to a motorbike of a police sergeant.
Witnesses said BNP-Jammat men tried to bring out a procession at noon in the area protesting ruling Awami League’s ‘Victory Day of Democracy’ celebration and ignoring police ban on rallies.
Police opened fire teargas shells and bullets to disperse the opposition leaving at least five people, including one bullet-hit, wounded.
Later, the agitated activists set fire to a motorbike of a police sergeant.
Police also nabbed two activists during the clash.
