DHAKA: Leaders and activists of ruling Awami League (AL) and its front organization have taken position on the city streets on Tuesday in a bid to resist the countrywide blockade program of BNP.
On Monday night, AL issued a press release, signed by its office secretary Dr Abdus Sobhan Golap, in this regard.
Leaders and activists, dividing into 16 teams, took position at 16 spots across the city led by the party central leaders since morning.
The spots are: Mirpur 12, Zurain Rail Gate in Shyampur, Jartabari Matha in Demra, Rampura Petrol Pump in Badda, Road No. 32 on Dhamonddi, Mirpur 1 intersection, Lalbagh, Gulshan, Sutrapur, Tejgaon, Khilgaon, Uttra, Kamrangichar, Town Hall in Mohammadpur, Kafrul and Suhrawardy Udyan.
AL’s central leaders including, Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim, Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed, and Barrister Fazle Noor Tapas will be accompanied the local leaders and activists at the constituencies concerned, according to the release.
